Ultraviolet Break of Day

British photographer Marcus Wendt created a photo series titled Ultraviolet Break of Day documenting Hong Kong and Shenzhen at night during a jetlag-induced wandering. His images capture intimate scenes across quiet alleyways, empty sports fields and busy streets, presenting the metropolises through a disorienting lens. The collection features cyberpunk aesthetics reminiscent of Blade Runner, contrasting Hong Kong's brightly-lit Kowloon shopping stalls with vacant areas in Shenzhen's CBD. Wendt notes: "Plunged into a foreign dark I found a new way of seeing, strange and alien."
